Proverbs 30

Proverbs 30:8-9 Keep falsehood and lies from me; give me neither poverty nor riches , but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. What does it look like to be given “only our daily bread”? As a Christian, I have wrestled with this idea of what it means to be living neither poor nor rich. I can relate to both extremes and have lived at both extremes and been very far from God at both extremes. I believe the answer comes in our contentment. Are you content in any circumstance you face? Do you draw on God’s strength for all your needs? Learning to rely on God for all our needs and being content with that which he supplies us with. As a Christian I know that God has my best interest at hand and will supply me with all that I need. The bigger question for me is what will I do with all he gives me? How will I spend my time? How will I use my talents? Where will I invest my (His) treasure? Pray that God will give you only your daily bread and that you will be content with his provision.
